Asian entertainment has recently gained more interest than ever before. The Asia Artist Awards were set up in 2016 to recognise and reward musicians and actors with the best performances seen over the previous year. It also takes place to increase awareness of the emerging contemporary artists in Asia by providing a powerful platform for them to shine.

The popularity of this event continues to grow, with over 49 million people this year casting pre-votes online in the hope of seeing their favourite stars win a prize on stage. The focus on K-pop has taken a huge leap of success over the last year, not just in Korea, but all over the world.

The diversity in music which was ignored for so long has now taken a first step onto its own stage. K-pop is fun, exciting to watch and language is not a barrier for people to engage with it. It is quickly becoming one of South Korea’s biggest and hugely valued exports.

AAA focuses on highlighting and sharing this type of entertainment as an opportunity to exhibit the best talent in our multilingual world. The founders of the event recognised that they would be able to engage audiences on a huge scale, having paid attention to on-going trends of popular diversity, particularly in music.

With astounding performances ahead, including boyband BTS that have achieved unparalleled
fame and popularity over the last two years, AAA will encourage watchers to cheer in every language.

It is time to celebrate an event that broke down industry barriers which once restricted audiences from exploring other cultures. It has proven that listening and taking a new route engages new media fans that will dance to their beat.
